In the cold of winter when the air is dry, thermostats in the home instantly go up causing the sunboard to further dry out.  This will result in the pitch of the piano likely falling.

This best time to tune your piano is in the Spring!  Piano tunners also work better when it’s not too hot or too cold.

Tip #2: Always take a simple, deep breath and release it freely as you sing. Do this as you keep your stomach muscles active.<

Tip #3: Keep your body relaxed while standing tall. Correct posture will assist in better breathing technique.

Tip #4: Your facial muscles should be without tension.

Tip #5: Correctly practice how to overcome the breaks and gaps between vocal registers (sometimes referred to as “head voice” and “chest voice”).

Tip #6: Do not practice to the point of exhaustion.

Tip #7: While scientific reasoning is important, do not allow it to block your thoughts while you are singing. Singing is not only about the use of the voice, but about mind and soul. Find a balance.

Tip #8: Just singing a song isn’t enough. You need to truly engage your thoughts into the meaning and implications of the song. Let the words capture your thoughts so that you can express the vivid picture in your mind.

Tip #9: Choose your songs wisely. Not every song is suitable for all voices and/or audiences.

Tip #10: CONFIDENCE! If you doubt yourself as a singer, others will too. Believe in yourself!
